Hotel Gabbani Lugano, Lugano

The hotel is nestled in the heart of Lugano, offering a convenient location close to the vibrant Piazza Della Riforma and the funicular. The rooms, like the 'Rosa' room I stayed in during these unusual times, were decently sized, but the lack of windows to open aside from the bathroom window with a noisy air-conditioning unit outside did affect the overall experience. The service provided by the staff, including housekeeping and tour assistance, was satisfactory. The dining options were limited and uninspiring, although being above a delicatessen was a plus. The facilities were average, with nothing particularly standing out.

Despite the recent painting, the hotel offers small and rather hot rooms at a reduced rate. However, the convenient location and reduced rate were the saving graces of this stay.

My stay at the Gabbani was a mix of positives and negatives. The modern split-level room with a balcony overlooking a quaint pedestrian street was charming, but the noise from the restaurant below made it hard to sleep. The location was excellent for exploring Lugano but had some noise concerns.
